Als cadeau aan de POTOM Bar kreeg ik een email van Thomas.
Hij had een snel ontwerp geschetst en vroeg zich af of wij dit konden maken.
Na wat aanpassingen in het ontwerp bleek het wel een heel mooi bord te gaan worden.
Uit 3 delen Mahonie, wat na het schaven verlijmd is, is het onderstaande bord ontstaan.
De tekst, en het logo zijn gefreesd volgens de V-carve / V-groef methode.

Well the best tip i can give is the one you already know..
For a complex post like this i prefer spray paint, although this gives less layer thickness.
For normal name signs we use e small paintbrush and apply one base coat, and 2 or three color layers.

Marcel, Echt weer super gelukt. Die dunne witte lijnen ontstaan naar het schuren zodat het grondverf er weer doorkomt of…… Mvg, Daniël.

De witte lijnen ontstaan inderdaad door de grondverf laag die onder de kleur laag is aangebracht.
Dit is het resultaat van meerdere lagen grondverf, voor de zwarte verf is aangebracht, waardoor een dikkere witte laag ontstaat.
Als je de lijnen niet wilt zien kun je een dunnere grondlaag aanbrengen, of zelfs de grondverf kleuren.

Very very nice job,great look,i see you sand the wood after painting….I sometimes engrave with oracal foil no mether the color,and wen the engraving is finishd I paint it all and peel off the foil…but this is nice too…i dont have too much time to post new jobs,but I will inform you…all the best…

I have tied several types of masking tape, and every time i try it leaves rugged edges, and i have to sand anyway.
I will have a look at the oracal foil for sure, thanks for the tip..

[..YouTube..] Yes this is called V-carve engraving/milling.You have to have software like Artcam or Vectric Vcarve to do this.Although there are probably more programs that can do so.
